Re:    Commendation - Atlanta Communications, Inc. Dear Mrs. Gwen Byrd,
As you may recall the City of Sandy Springs was incorporated on December 01, 2005. The Mayor and Council hired me in January 2006 so that our police operations could begin on July 01, 2006.

We had to determine in a very short period of time how to equip both the marked and unmarked police vehicles. In addition to equipping each vehicle we needed to identify which vendor would install all of our equipment. After carefully interviewing several companies, Atlanta Communications, Inc. was selected to manage all of our installations on our police vehicles.

Atlanta Communications, Inc. installed all the basic equipment in our marked and unmarked police vehicles in a small window of time prior to July 1st. After July 1st Atlanta Communications, Inc. coordinated the installation of our mobile laptop mounts, break out boxes, and digital cameras with the Sandy Springs Police Department staff. All the installations were done professionally and were completed prior to our specified deadline dates.

During our start up we had some configuration issues with our mobile laptops and our digital cameras. Mr. Katz identified the configuration issues and corrected the problems on all of our mobile laptop computers. Mr. Katz was instrumental in insuring that all of our laptops and digital cameras were working properly.

I cannot begin to say enough about the team at Atlanta Communications, Inc. to include Ron Thomas, Barry Katz, Jesse Cooper, the installers, and all the other staff that were instrumental in coordinating the installation and programming of all our equipment.  We would not have been at that operational level that we are at today without them.

Atlanta Communications, Inc. exceeded all of our expectations and went above and beyond in providing quality service for our agency during our start up. Our agency will always be grateful to the staff of Atlanta Communications, Inc. for all of their efforts.

We look forward to our continued working relationship with Atlanta

Communications, Inc. Respectfully,
Chief Gene Wilson

I just want to thank everyone for the awesome job of getting both the Paratransit move done and the recorder working at the BCC. Tim and Matt went far beyond the call of duty (and lack of sleep) to get the job done. I can tell you that this professionalism is appreciated and recognized by the management staff at MARTA that are now responsible for the radio system. Thanks, again, for your fantastic efforts.

Hi Gwen, I just wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation with your organization. I have been working with your organization since my arrival in Atlanta some 8+ years ago. Throughout that time I have had several projects and I am happy to express my appreciation with the quality of your employees.
In particular, Ron Thomas is without a doubt one of the best Service Managers that I have had to work with. Atlanta Communications is no doubt Motorola's partner, and Ron sure helps to make this happen. I have had many last minute challenges where time and resources are of importance and he has stepped up to help. No matter the time, one call to Ron and I know that the issue is in good hands. I have the greatest of comfort and confidence in your organization because you have great people like Ron working for you.

I do know that your time is valuable and so appreciate you taking the time to read this email.

Once again, thanks for continuing to have a great staff.

Regards,
Trevino McDonald
Georgia Engineering Manager

Dear Ms. Byrd,
On behalf of the Atlanta Braves and Major League Baseball, we would like to congratulate Atlanta Communications for your selection as a recipient of the 1st Annual Jackie Robinson "MVDBP" (Most Valuable Diverse Business Partner) Award. In recognition of the extraordinary contributions of Jackie Robinson we think it most befitting on this, the 60th Anniversary of Jackie breaking the color barrier in Major League Baseball, to recognize those Diverse Business Partners who have directly benefited from his legacy.

Many people remember Jackie Robinson for his outstanding play on the baseball field. His Rookie of the Year Award, six consecutive All-Star appearances, an MVP award, six World Series appearances and Induction to the Hall of Fame are testaments of his greatness on the baseball diamond. In addition to his accomplishments on the field, Jackie Robinson was also a forerunner of the Civil Rights Movement. He was a key figure in the establishment and growth of the Freedom Bank, an African-American owned and controlled entity, in the 1960s. In recognition of his accomplishments on/off the field, Robinson posthumously received a Congressional Medal of Honor and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Dating back to 1947, Major League Baseball has been at the forefront of professional sports in recognizing the importance of diversity, both on and off the field. In 1998, Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig, authorized the creation of the DBP program, an economically driven business initiative established to cultivate new and existing partnerships with minority- and women-owned businesses, by increasing opportunities for minorities and women to participate in the procurement activities of Major League Baseball.
Attributes such as proactive leadership, commitment to sound business practices, quality product efficiency, reliability and accountability are indicative of the qualities found in our Jackie Robinson "MVDBP" (Most Valuable Diverse Business Partner) Award recipients.

In closing, we thank you for your support and contributions as a Diverse Business Partner to Major league Baseball.

Sincerely, /like Plant EVP, Atlanta Braves

Gwen;
There are still a few installs left in the Sandy Springs Digital Mobile Video Enforcer Project, but for the most part it is complete. During the last few weeks, Atlanta Communications personnel were put to the test of making difficult timelines, locating and purchasing third party cables, making changes to previously installed units, resetting IP Addresses, and showing the customer how to image his laptops. These issues were unexpected, but the success of the project depended on our ability to resolve them. As I mentioned early in the project, implementing the first metro area Digital Mobile Video Enforcer System was going to be challenging, but if I had to rely on a shop "to make it happen" it would be Atlanta Comm. At that time little did I understand the magnitude of those obstacles, but your guys stepped up to each challenge, and found a timely resolution. The extra effort and the expertise demonstrated by your team resulted in one very happy customer. While certain customer elements were planning to discard the system because it didn't work, the efforts of Jessie Cooper, Robert Smith, Barry Katz, and Ron Thomas proved them wrong and vindicated those who fought to keep it.

We both now have an extremely pleased "new" customer to add to our baselines, and your team played a major part in making that possible. Please accept my sincere gratitude, and let your employees know how much their efforts and professionalism are appreciated.
